Human Rights and the Material Supply Chain
NB. This webinar will take place at 1pm - 2pm EST / 10am - 11am PT.
What is the session about?
This webinar, hosted by Nora Rizzo, Ethical Materials Director at Grace Farms, will explore the critical intersection between human rights and the construction industry, shedding light on how issues like fair labor practices, worker health and safety, and ethical sourcing directly affect workers, companies, and communities. The new Design for Freedom International Guidance and Toolkit provides information on raw and composite building materials that are at high risk of forced and child labor. These materials, are often extracted and produced in inhumane conditions throughout the world. By better understanding the construction supply chain, AEC professionals can prioritize human rights and ethical procurement, while meeting health and climate project goals. Real-world examples and expert insights will help you understand how everyday decisions can support human dignity and how fostering a rights-respecting culture benefits all. What are the attendance / technical requirements?
